'People are fearful' - the reasons 'juggernaut' Arsenal are the team to beat.

There's little doubt why Arsenal stand as many people's favorites to secure the Premier League in the current campaign.

Look at their results against West Ham and Crystal Palace in contrast with those identical matches last season.

The Gunners have beaten all of them in the current season, but surrendered 10 points across those games as they fell away in the title race last season.

Defensive Dominance

Arsenal's defensive strength is a key reason why they are looking well positioned to ultimately achieve their title goal.

They rank top for clean sheets (6), shots let in (3), opposition efforts (72), dangerous chances allowed (19) and expected goals against (5.3).

The central defensive pairing of Gabriel and William Saliba is possibly the best in the league, with Arsenal maintaining a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Set-Piece Proficiency

Their danger from dead balls is widely recognized, but opposition teams still find it difficult to neutralize the Gunners from these situations.

They have registered 11 times from set-pieces in the league, several additional than any other side, with 69% of their goals coming from these situations.

"Arsenal can perform multiple roles now. The whole team has a daunting aura. People are just fearful of them and it is great to see."

Title Credentials

What is especially notable about Arsenal's commencement to the campaign is they have also faced Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United at opposition grounds and Manchester City on home turf - and are still four points clear at the top.

While they keep winning, their long-standing opponents face difficulties. This marks the premier instance at this juncture of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The pressure was on manager Mikel Arteta at the outset, having spent around £250m on eight summer signings in quest of that coveted first title since 2004.

But the spending has so far paid off in remarkable manner, with his side among the highest scorers in the league and boasting the strongest defense, despite numerous injuries.

  • Shutouts in each of their last three Premier League games
  • Over six hours without conceding a goal
  • Only three goals in 12 games across every tournament

Former players and analysts have labeled Arteta's men as a "powerhouse, looking challenging to stop" with the whole club now performing with conviction and resolve.
